Switching Driver at Green Cargo in Borlänge
Are you interested in a physical job outdoors in a constantly changing railway environment where safety is the highest priority? We are now looking for someone who wants to take the opportunity to undergo a paid training and work as a switching driver with us at Green Cargo in Borlänge! As an employee with us, you want to contribute to our ambition to help more customers transport goods in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
Your Responsibilities
At the yard, we work with switching and sorting freight wagons. This means that wagons arrive in trains from all over the country and are divided and assembled into new trains to reach our important customers and terminals. The role of a switching driver involves planning and switching wagons to the correct train and customer. In addition to the actual switching, functional checks of the wagons are included before they depart to new destinations. A common goal is to ensure that the trains reach customers on time and safely. This role requires a high level of commitment from everyone working at the yard and is suitable for those who thrive in physically demanding tasks. Turn on your step counter when you start your shift – here you can easily walk up to 20,000-30,000 steps before the end of your shift. You will also need to go up and down to and from the locomotive cabin several times during your shift. Feel free to check out our employees who share more about what it’s like to work with us via the link below.
